Home Watch in Westerly, RI
Tide & Timber looks after second and seasonal homes throughout Westerly, RI, including the shore neighborhoods of Misquamicut and Weekapaug, while owners are away— for a season, a month, or a few weeks. We are based a short drive away in Stonington.
Misquamicut & Weekapaug
Westerly’s shore runs from Misquamicut, the livelier end in summer, to quieter Weekapaug. Misquamicut lies between Watch Hill and Weekapaug on a low-lying strip between the ocean and Winnapaug Pond, while Weekapaug is more residential, with Shingle Style houses, salt ponds, and a breachway to the ocean. Westerly’s town plan notes that these shore communities share a common element of seasonal and summer homes.
Sand, salt, and ocean wind come with owning a house here, and many shore houses stand empty from fall to spring. We close the house for the season, visit on a schedule through the winter, and open it again in spring. After a storm we check the outside, the roof and drainage, and the inside for signs of water, then send photos, so you hear from someone local before you have to decide anything.
